Pocket Option Trading Hours: Sessions, Volatility and Timing
Updated: 2026-09-17
On a short expiry, when you trade matters as much as what you trade. The same pair on the same setup behaves completely differently at 03:00 and at 14:00 UTC, and most avoidable losses happen in the wrong hours rather than on the wrong signal.
The sessions that matter
The London session (roughly 07:00–16:00 UTC) carries the largest share of currency volume, and European pairs such as EUR/USD and GBP/USD produce their cleanest structure in it.
The overlap with New York (about 12:00–16:00 UTC) is the highest-volatility window of the day. Moves are decisive, spreads on the underlying are tight and payouts are usually at their best.
The Asian session (around 00:00–08:00 UTC) is quieter and range-bound for European pairs but is the right window for yen crosses such as USD/JPY and GBP/JPY.
Hours to stay out
The late New York close into the Asian open is thin. Price drifts, ranges are narrow, and false breaks are common — a bad combination for expiries measured in minutes.
Avoid the minutes around high-impact economic releases. A signal built on technical structure has no view on an interest-rate decision, and the spike that follows ignores every level on the chart.
Friday's final hours behave unpredictably as positions are closed for the weekend. The structure that held all week frequently breaks without follow-through.
Weekends and personal scheduling
When the interbank market closes, only OTC pairs remain available. They trade continuously, including weekends, with 3, 15 and 30 second expiries that do not exist on weekday instruments.
Pick one or two consistent windows rather than trading whenever you happen to be free. A fixed schedule gives you a comparable sample and lets you learn how your chosen pairs behave in those exact hours.
Set the timezone in your profile so signal times match your local clock. Most timing mistakes are simply arithmetic errors between UTC and local time.
