Pocket Option Payouts and Assets: Reading the Percentage
Updated: 2026-09-17
The payout percentage shown next to every asset is the most important number on the Pocket Option screen, and the one beginners look at the least. It sets the accuracy you must maintain before any strategy can be profitable.
What the percentage means
A payout of 80% means a correct $10 trade returns $18 — your stake plus $8 profit. An incorrect trade returns nothing. The asymmetry is the platform's margin, and it is built into every position.
The break-even accuracy is simple to compute: 100 divided by (100 plus the payout). At 80% that is 55.6%; at 90% it drops to 52.6%; at 70% it rises to 58.8%. A ten-point change in payout moves the bar by several percentage points of skill.
This is why choosing the asset with the higher payout is not a detail. Two identical strategies on two assets with different payouts produce very different outcomes over a hundred trades.
Which assets pay more and when
Payouts change with volatility, time of day and liquidity. Major currency pairs during the London and New York overlap typically show the highest percentages, while thin hours show lower ones on the same instrument.
OTC pairs at weekends often carry attractive percentages, but the pricing is synthetic and your sample of experience with them is usually smaller. Treat a high weekend payout as compensation for uncertainty, not as free value.
Crypto and commodity assets such as gold vary widely; check the number before every trade rather than assuming it is the same as yesterday.
Using payout in trade selection
Set a personal floor — many traders refuse anything below 75% — and skip setups on assets under it, however good the chart looks. A perfect signal at a 60% payout still needs 62.5% accuracy to break even.
When two instruments offer the same setup, take the one with the higher percentage. Over a long sequence this is one of the few reliable edges available to a retail account.
Record the payout alongside every trade in your log. After fifty trades you will see whether your losses cluster on low-payout instruments — for most traders, they do.
